Devils & Rye by Alta Hensley is 4TH book in the Top Shelf Series. This is the story of Alec and Makayla. This can be read as a standalone but if you haven’t read the other books in this series, give them a whirl and give them a read.
Alec is part owner in the Gentleman's Club called Spiked Roses. The book gives the backstory on how Spiked Roses got started. Alec’s best friend and ex business partner, Rhett has sent his 20 year old daughter Makayla to his best friend Alec to keep her safe. Makayla has known Alec since she was a little girl but now that she is 20 years old, that little girl crush is so much more. Those feelings are intense and deep. Alec feels the same deep attraction but what is holding him back is his friendship that he holds with her father, Rhett. On top of the budding romance with Makayla, she is in danger and he must protect her at all costs.
