Long Shot is a FANTASTIC story
that has one of my favorite things in
this book- Basketball. Long Shot, a story set in the Basketball sports arena is
a novel many readers most definitely not be expecting to read. It's
Iris' story- 1st off and it’s a story of her true strength determination
and survival showcased in a story about love, a love all readers will root for
her to see blossom. Long Shot spans over years and it gives the reader
the time to really invest themselves in this read and in Iris and August.
Iris and August have this immediate and instant connection, one that is
sizzling. Iris is a character who you will hurt for, one you will root
for to get her HEA because her story is so painful, so heartbreaking. She is a
woman who went thru so much violence yet she fought back from the dark to get
to the light. Iris got her freedom because of her daughter, because she
had the support of her cousin who was also her BFF. And also because of August.
You know they are meant to be together the moment that they met but the choices
that were made totally screwed that up. But Iris picks herself up and goes
about fixing the choices she made. Oh My August. What do I say about
him? Well, he is totally swoon worthy. He is a total book boyfriend and he is
honest and a man who completely loves Iris.
The things he would do for Iris and the things he has done for her.
This story took me on a roller
coaster of emotions throughout the read. I ached for Iris and I also rooted for
her to find her HEA. I loved August and I wanted him to get his HEA. I was on
pins and needles because of the deep emotions that ran thru this book. They have such an incredible emotional
connection to one another. This is a
book that you want to get the tissues out for. This was such an amazing and
moving read by Ms. Ryan. This is a must read and I highly recommend it.
