I scan the ocean, expecting it to turn to blood, but it simply crashes to the shore.

I turn to the house and take a step, then stop abruptly, a shadow flickering by the house. A shiver runs down my spine. There it is again. Another shadow. Someone is there. It’s then that I flash back to being on this very sand, with Kane grabbing my arms and saying, “I’ll take care of it.” And I let him, and did so without asking questions, until it was too late to change the outcome. Because I was weak that night and he was strong. But I am not weak anymore.

When I know I’m alone, I walk to my bag, pull on gloves and then walk back outside, yanking the note off the door. Returning back inside, I lock the door and pull the blinds and then I open the note. At the top is the alphabet, pasted in paper letters, with an X across the letter A. The note reads:

*****MY REVIEW ****

Murder Notes by Lisa Renee Jones is the 1st book in a new series called "Lilah Love".  When I heard Ms. Jones had a new series and it was a romantic suspense, I was super excited to see what the new series was all about. I definitely was impressed by the writing and the main characters. This is a MUST READ new romantic suspense series that all need to read.
Lilah Love is a successful FBI Profiler and works hard in the job she adores. But there are some scary new murders that have popped up that have clues that lead back to Lilah’s home town and something hidden in her past from several years before . The more Lilah digs for answers, the muddier things become. Within hours of her arrival she starts to receive the first of several notes from an unidentified stalker. On top of the stalker, she is back in town and has to deal with her family which is comprised of her Dad  the mayor and her brother  the police chief. Then add in the ex-factor-her ex is the son of the town's 'crime lord'.  There is still a lot of steam between them. It is felt thru the story and Kane, her ex, knows about what her secret is. Which complicate things--- Lilah knows it’s only a matter of time before this secret can get loose and that means if she doesn’t want to lose her job and her family plus the people she has come to care for then she needs to find out who is doing the killing and stop them and fast or Lilah is going to lose everything. Problem is , her every move being watched by family , the whole island plus her stalker. Will Lilah be able to get one step ahead of everyone to make her move ? Who can she trust? The story ended on a cliffhanger and I am dying to know what happens next. This was an outstanding read, I loved the chemistry between Lilah and everyone she came into contact with. There are a lot of twists and turns in this read. I want to say I think I knew who her stalker was when I was reading but as soon as I would say that, BAM I was wrong.  So I am just going to say many things will keep you on the edge of your seat. I look forward to reading book 2 in this new romantic suspense series by Lisa Renee Jones.
