Like A Boss by Sylvia Pierce
and Lili Valente was a fantastic read, one that I didn’t want to end. Ellie
is an investigative journalist and is writing a piece on the differences
between men and women in the financial business. Her first run doesn’t
turn anything up. Thing is, it is sort of odd since she is investigating her
brother’s financial investment firm and no one will speak to her. With her
brother traveling for a month, she needs answers quick. So she goes
undercover at her brother’s firm in order to get answers and convinces her
brother's business partner and best friend, Jack, to go along. Oh there were several twists in the story and
one of them is how Ellie decided to go undercover. Trust me, I was astonished
and amazed at how intelligent and sassy she was. Ellie wasn’t going to let
anyone keep her from a story, no matter how she had to get those answers. But
Jack, he is such a possessive alpha male. He has answers and he is determined
to prove her brother and his company is on the up and up. But what secrets is
Jack hiding? How attracted is Jack to Ellie? And what about Ellie’s attraction
to Jack? What will her brother do when he finds out everything? OMG this story
was smoking hot and full of intense chemistry between the main characters. I
loved this semi taboo romance- best friend’s younger sister to lover romance.
Oh My! And the ending was the icing on the cake. I don’t want to give any
spoilers away so just know this is one story you don’t want to miss.
