Protecting Bobbi by Kat Mizera
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Ron Marshall is a Marine stationed in San Diego. His sister died and he was left to raise her two-year-old daughter. The problem is his job requires him to travel at a moment’s notice which is hard since he isn’t married nor does he have a girlfriend to help him. Two of the wives of his fellow Marines do provide help when he is called out of town and they suggest placing his 2 yr old niece Sam in daycare/preschool type care. He agrees and when he goes to meet Sam’s teacher, he finds out her teacher is Bobbi, a woman he was in high school with and a woman he was attracted to back then. Its great reading how these two tackle dating with children, for Bobbi has a son from her marriage. There is some drama and angst involved with their budding relationship and the title saying “Protecting Bobbi”, that didn’t take place until the almost very end of the book. But its ok, because the story just flowed. The H/h had great chemistry and I loved that Ron has connection to Las Vegas Sidewinders character Erin ( they were in the service together)-and yes, Erin does make a small appearance in this book. This is definitely a novella read- I would have loved to known how the characters were after the book ended but maybe perhaps we will see them in another book? I do recommend this story for it is wonderful , has great characters, awesome chemistry, and the plot just moves with the flow, no slow moments. This is a standalone and can be read by itself.
