His walls might be tall, but I wasn't afraid of the climb.
Title: Fresh Catch Author: Kate Canterbary Release Date: February 20, 2018
Take a vacation, they said. Get away from Silicon Valley's back-stabbing and power-grabbing. Recharge the innovative batteries. Unwind, then come back stronger than ever.
Instead, I got lost at sea and fell in love with an anti-social lobsterman.
There's one small issue:
Owen Bartlett doesn't know who I am. Who I really am.
~~
I don't like people.
I avoid small talk and socializing, and I kick my companions out of bed before the sun rises.
No strings, no promises, no problems.
Until Cole McClish's boat drifts into Talbott's Cove, and I bend all my rules for the sexy sailor.
I don't know Cole's story or what he's running from, but one thing is certain:
I'm not letting him run away from me.

Kate Canterbary doesn’t have it all figured out, but this is what she knows for sure: spicy-ass salsa and tequila solve most problems, living on the ocean–Pacific or Atlantic–is the closest place to perfection, and writing smart, smutty stories is a better than any amount of chocolate. She started out reporting for an indie arts and entertainment newspaper back when people still read newspapers, and she has been writing and surreptitiously interviewing people—be careful sitting down next to her on an airplane—ever since.
Kate lives on the water in New England with Mr. Canterbary and the Little Baby Canterbary, and when she isn’t writing sexy architects, she’s scheduling her days around the region’s best food trucks.
*****MY REVIEW******
Fresh Catch is a unique
and exciting love story of two people from different worlds who are brought
together by fate. What is so unique is the two main characters are from
different walks of life, they each live on different coasts of the US, they are
from different financial strata, educational levels and beyond yet that doesn’t
stop them from cutting thru all that outside haze and getting to what really
matters- each other.
Owen Bartlett is an able seaman,
one of those ole salty type men who can do it all. He was born and raised in Talbott's Cove, he spends his days lobstering
and fishing and his nights are spent reading. He may seem like a quiet man but
there is more to him than meets the eye. Cole McClish is a man who
prefers the land. He is this powerful mogul, yet he can get so angry at
times that he is well known for his temper. He dislikes idiots and he has grown
unhappy in Silicon Valley. He doesn’t know if he is coming or going in his
professional and personal life. That is where Owen comes in and is ready to
show Cole there is more to life than a job he is unhappy with and a personal
life that is dead end. Their
relationship is one that really opens up the other person in ways they didn’t seem
coming. There is this intense sexual chemistry between Owen and Cole. The story
is good and the backdrop for the story is amazing, Ms. Canterbary has
written such a vivid picture of the seas and the people, it makes you feel as if you are there. And there is a
small tie in to the Walsh series with Owen. What you have is a beautiful and
heartfelt m/m romance that has you reading until the last page. Do they or don’t
they? Only way to find out is by reading the latest by Ms. Canterbary.
