“Hi, Sleeping Beauty.” She grins my way.
“Sorry about that. I can’t remember the last time I just fell off.”
“You obviously needed it. Feel better?”
“Tons. Thanks. How about you?”
“Great. I love drinking alone.” Her smirk says she’s poking harmlessly at me again. “But you gave me time to finish the dishes, do some laundry, read War and Peace…”
“Stop,” I groan. “Three hours is a long nap. I admit it. You going to ease up now?”
“When teasing you is so fun?” She raises a brow. “What do you think are the odds?”
Shitty. “How can I make it up to you? If you want to hop out of the pool and come to my bedroom, I’ll do my best to put a big smile on your face.”
“I’m intrigued,” she admits. “But in between chapters of the sad Russian saga, I Googled you. You’re, um…a big deal.”
I feel heat rush to my face. I’m used to people talking about me, but I’ve never been completely comfortable with it. “I’m told I was. But like I said, I’m retired now.”
“Hall of Famer, for sure.”
“So my agent assures me.” I shrug. “I’m trying not to linger in the past. I still have a lot of life to live.”
She splashes around a little more. “I don’t know. You’re practically ancient compared to me.”
Is this woman going to rib me about everything? Probably. And I still think it’s oddly adorable. It’s way more entertaining than the bowing, scraping, and yes-sirring I’ve been hearing for years. “How much older?”
“Almost nine years. When you were graduating from high school, I was starting junior high. These days, do you need vitamins before sex or a little blue pill?”
Now she’s laughing, and I find myself smiling in return. “Fuck you.”
“That is the idea…”
“Come here, baby.”
Her eyes sparkle under the moonlight, and it’s all I can do not to jump in after her, clothes and all. I want my hands on her now.
“Why don’t you drop trou and come in after me?”
“You’re all wet.”
She purses her lips together, and I know she’ll make one hell of a sexy bad girl. “Don’t you want me that way?”
The way I feel now? Every day, all day. “Just your pussy. That should be juicy and swollen and ready for my cock. The rest of you shouldn’t be wet unless I’m making you sweat in pleasure.”
“You sweet talker, you…”.

******* MY REVIEW ******
More Than Love You by Shayla Black is book 3 in the "More Than Words" series. This is the story of Noah Weston and Harlow Reed. This is one of the hottest, most complex and emotional books in this series. Harlow and Noah had this combustible chemistry that was undeniable and their banter was witty and sexy.
The story is- Noah Weston is coming down off of being a famous quarterback to retired player and arrives in Hawaii. He grew up in Hawaii and has gone back there to regroup while deciding whether or not to take a job as a commentator. Harlow Reed is looking for fantastic sex after ending her engagement in a public manner. They met unexpectedly his new home. Noah didn't know why she was there, but he wanted her any way he could get her in order to keep her. Harlow is the house-sitter for his home and since he is there, she figures he doesn’t need a house-sitter now yet he invites her to stay plus there is mad chemistry between them. Plus she is on the run from the disastrous personal life back in San Diego. She has a job waiting for her back in San Diego, but she has reservations about accepting it, and returning home to face her insane family drama among other things. Then on top of it, the home owner to the home she was paid to house sit shows up and he is totally hot plus famous. She finds out that Noah is suffering some mild effects from years on the football field and she knows she can be the one to help him recover. They come to a mutual agreement that is sure to benefit both of them…and on they begin a journey to discover and hopefully healing each other. As the story unfolds, we find each harbor secrets, some more profound, others very painful. These two go on a journey that will have them questioning their feelings for one another and the situation that they have found themselves in. The chemistry is red hot and the emotions are deep between them. The love is there between them but due to the past that affects each of them, they are wary to get involved. Watching Harlow and Noah dance around their feelings for each other is both funny and heartbreaking. These two are meant to be together and because of all the pain and issues in their past, it is messing with their present. Noah comes to the conclusion he is ready for a relationship than Harlow. Harlow is very messed up due to her parents. If you have read the previous books in this series, then you are very well aware of the train wreck her parents are. If not, you will be even more sickened when you read about what they did to Harlow. I am so in love with Harlow’s brothers. They are there for her and there is a HUGE twist when it comes to Harlow and her family. I look forward to seeing where this series goes next. As to Harlow and Noah…will they or wont they get their HEA ? You need to read this emotional and phenomenal read to find out!!! It is a must read in the More than Words series.
My Rating: 4.8 stars *****
