This book is a keeper! It had so much wrapped into a one unique and sizzling story. This is a story about heartbreak, second chances, finding love, discovery and everlasting love. Claire and Aiken’s story is a beautiful one. They both have suffered emotional scars in their past, pain that caused them to draw back and seek refuge from their past. They both are seeking answers to the questions that still linger. Clair, in my mind, has suffered the most pain and this story will touch even the hardened heart. Her past will intertwine with Aiken’s but it isn’t immediately known but the story is woven in such a way that the reader will be fully engaged and rooting for both main characters. Aiken is about 6 years younger than Claire’s 36 years. He is full of zest, energy and secrets. Claire is withdrawn, slender and reclusive. The difference between them is pretty evident; What I loved is the information isn’t all at once but given to the reader slowly so that we can enjoy the budding relationship between Claire and Aiken plus take in the very different agendas that are at work in the story. What is Aiken up to? Is he as perfect as he seems? Will Claire ever recover from the devastation from her past or will she be doomed to relive it over and over. These are great questions and there are several Huge twists and turns that take place in the story. I do not want to give any spoilers away so all I can say is this is one emotional, heartbreaking story that will keep you on your toes from start to finish. I loved it and would love to see a follow up novella featuring the main characters and how they are doing, that is how great this story is. I will say the way the book ended, one of the secondary characters looks to possibly be getting their own book and I am so looking forward to their story.
