ARC Review of F*ck Club: Shame by Shiloh Walker

F*ck Club: ShameF*ck Club: Shame by Shiloh Walker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

F*ck Club: SHAME by Shiloh Walker is unique brother’s Best friend story but with a twist. Max, or Shame as he likes to be called by everyone, has been in love with Charli for such a long time-for as long as he can remember but he doesn't believe he is worthy of her. Charli has been in love with Max/ Shame for just as long as well, She has always tried to help Shame but he totally refuses any kind of help. Shame is so hardheaded that he rebuffs Charli because he thinks his messed up past is glimpse of what his future will be and any chance he gets at happiness, Shame puts the brakes full stop on it. Shame has this thing that he does, whatever it is, that he does it hard. He thinks of it as his “vice”. He does make sure to protect Charli and keep her safe which means even from him ; he fight this intense desire/ attraction he feels for her but the day comes when all his flimsy excuses do not hold any more weight and Shame has to start pushing hard back at Charli. Poor girl, she didn’t know what to make of Shame’s behavior. All she knows is she has been in love with him forever and she wants to care and protect him from everything, even his self-destructive type behavior. It looked like there was some headway made when they briefly were able to get together and have this passionate interlude but Shame again pushes Charli away and out of that comes tragedy. There is pain, heartbreak, despair and anger over Shame’s actions, actions Charli is just done with but is she truly done or will there be one more chance for the man she truly loves or has Shame used up his last chance with the only woman who was truly his. I have to say, watching Charli and Max go thru this relationship dance together is a beautiful and an emotional ride. I will be going back and reading the previous books and looking forward to more in this series. Only minor discord I do have is that I wish there was an epilogue that shows the reader how they are doing after the story ends. I would have liked that but overall, fantastic writing, awesome characters and a brilliant story.
