ARC Review of Gods & Monsters by Saffron A. Kent

Gods & MonstersGods & Monsters by Saffron A. Kent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

GODS & MONSTERS: is a standalone, full length, New Adult romance novel by Saffron A. Kent. This is the story of Edie, a sweet loving girl who sees good anywhere she looks and in practically everyone. This is the story of Abel, a lonely boy trying not to be the monster everyone seem to think he is. This is a forbidden friends-to-lovers story---- There is such chemistry and connection between Edie and Abel. They go from being friends to falling in love. It started out with them against her parents and the town. Everyone was against them being together in any way, shape or form so they formed a friendship and an alliance. Their friendship slowly turned into a powerful love that was an unstoppable force. Without going into too much, their love seemed doomed from the beginning but the story had twofold meaning. Abel and Evie from the beginning knew nothing could keep them from one another. All that hate and objection from everyone towards their love led to them feeling so much disgust, anger , pain and ultimately had them running away together. Away from those who were trying to destroy their love and happiness. How they dealt with things was the unconventional part in the story. I was blown away by the sensitive writing done and the emotional feels this story projects. Abel and Edie make this beautiful couple-with all their flaws, still one of the most unique and beautiful couples I have read of late. Their story had me glued, needing more info and praying they would find happiness and that long eluded HEA. Abel is this alpha male who needed his woman, Edie to breathe and the twists that came in the story had me literally holding my breath and praying. There are several messages/ themes that are shown in this book but the main theme is one I definitely backed and supported—Yes people have opinions for everything and those opinions are shared everywhere, every day. How those people view us and how we view ourselves are perhaps not the same but even if it were, it’s important to listen to oneself in order to be happy.
