Fix my Fall by Carey Heywood is the third book in her The Fix series and this book is just a lighthearted, good read with only light angst. It is not a heavy read, more of a sweet romance. Spencer Hill is a astrophysicist who lives and breathes his job. He has recently moved back home and his mother has enlisted Abby Thompson to help him find the perfect home. Only thing is, she is his former girlfriend from when they were in high school and the crush he never got over. There was sparks immediately when they meet back up. Abby is a successful real estate agent who comes from having to deal with all these men in her family telling her what to do and her having to deal with all that male testosterone--When really Abby feels inferior because her siblings are more successful than her. Abby wants someone to see her for who she is and like/love her and cherish her. Abby is a kind, sweet, independent, successful, funny, beautiful woman. She hasn’t had really had good luck dating and when she finds out she will be helping Spencer find a home since he will be working at a new job locally, all those old feelings come back that she felt for him years before.
She did help him find a home but what was awesome was the way these two let a friendship develop first. They didn’t let the obvious chemistry get in the way of a friendship first. Not to say there wasn’t some angst , which was on the low side and some twists and turns to get in the way first. Then after the friendship was solidly developed, then did their friendship move past and start to develop and it was so way past what they had in high school. I loved the fact they had this awesome 2nd chance at love and it was more mature and lasting. The sexual tension was high but it was fantastic reading their romance. Their foundation was solid , Spencer was aww –inspiring and Abby was sweet yet strong when needed to be. Their witty banter, their steamy chemistry was just the right tone and the humor was fantastic. I enjoyed this 3rd book in the series and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us with this series!
