Irish Kiss by Sienna Blake is a complex, unique and addicting story. It shows the characters in the past and in the present. It is sort of a taboo story about a teenage girl and a man who’s a decade older than her –he is her juvenile liaison officer which meant he held a position of authority over her. I didn’t know what to make of Saoirse and Diarmuid- their love story is messy, complicated yet they love each other. The story starts when they first met. Saoirse has a father in jail and a completely neglectful mother. Diarmuid gets assigned to her and he is the type of person who goes beyond what the job detailed for “his children”. He wasn’t a bad guy, just someone who would go the extra mile yet when it came to Saoirse he went so far extra; he met her when she was 13 and rescued her. Their story is spread out and told. Saoirse fell in love with Diarmuid –saw him as her soulmate, as the only person that understood her. The love story part doesn’t come into play until she is of legal age. There's lots of twists and turns throughout this story to keep the readers hooked throughout from start to finish. As I mentioned, this is a story that is complex and is complicated. There is a villain in the story and I wish I found out what ever happened to said villain. It was as if that was rushed thru to get to ending and I would have liked that not to have been rushed but overall this was a beautiful love story with a handsome, alpha male and a beautiful, sweet woman.
