I am a liar. My
words were poison and everything I touched got filthy. Except Iris.
She was the best
part of who I was. The only bright spark in my dull, gray world.
But denial made me
stupid and a cruel insult destroyed everything I hoped to have with the girl of
my dreams.
Now I will crawl on
my knees and grovel because sometimes, even rock Gods have to beg.

Author Bio
Eden Butler is an editor and writer of Mystery, Suspense and
Contemporary Romance novels and the nine-times great-granddaughter of an
honest-to-God English pirate. This could explain her affinity for rule breaking
and rum.
When she’s not writing or wondering about her possibly Jack
Sparrowesque ancestor, Eden patiently waits for her Hogwarts letter, edits,
reads and spends way too much time watching rugby, Doctor Who and New Orleans
Saints football.
She is currently living under teenage rule alongside her
husband in southeast Louisiana.

********* MY REVIEW *******
Beg by Eden Butler is the conclusion to Iris and Dash’s story and what an emotional rollercoaster ride it was. I was one wondering how the author would handle Iris and Dash’s emotional story and let me say the author did it justice. When we last were left at the end of Book 1 Kneel where Jamie (as Dash) having a personal video up in concert, which now mirrors the nightmare at the beginning of Kneel. His grievances with Iris caused him to act out but what he should have done would have been to just air his grievances in private instead of acting like an overgrown manchild.
Beg is the book that revolves around the fallout from his stupid act. This shows the domino effect -- his public life, his career, his private life, and his family –this shows the effect it has had from his actions. Because of this, Jamie/Dash is drinking a lot and trying to find where Iris has vanished to. He is desperate to get her back but she doesn’t want to be found and we see a man who is literally hanging on by a frayed thread. This book shows more of Jamie/Dash’s POV and we get to see what makes him tick, what drove him previously and currently . I will tell you at times I actively disliked him to the point I had to put my kindle down and walk away but it seemed to be toward the end of the book I found myself liking Jamie/Dash finally. I went back and forth over if he was right for Iris. I think it finally hit me that the hate and love are the same emotions so even though I may hate him at times, I still love him just the same. And yes there are several Come to Jesus moments in this story. Will Iris go back to Jamie/Dash or will she walk away finally? I will not tell you but what I will tell you is this story has so many emotions swirling about- hopelessness, raw, sad, moving, despair, heartbreak, hope, and love. If anyone knows anything about hope and love, that would be Iris- she is one great character and she made this duet a great one to read. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what she ultimately decided to do. There were several twists to this story – you do not want to miss out on what choice she makes.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *****
“I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
