Faded Grey Lines is the 2nd installment of the Carrera Cartel. It tells the story of Mateo, Val's most trusted man from book 1 "Blurred Red Lines". Mateo and Leighton are that couple that is destined to be separated. Mateo is all tied up in illegal activities and would do anything for his boss which his boss knows and his boss will trust him with his life. Leighton is innocent, pure, untouched by evil , sweet, angelic—everything Mateo is not. But what might look like she has a perfect life isn’t the case for she wants to run from the life she has. They can't be together, and life at some point reminds them of it and drives them apart, leaving a baggage of secrets trailing behind them. You feel for this couple because you know they are very much meant to be together but cant. When they meet again, you can tell and feel the love never faded from eithers mind and hearts. They still have that first love feeling for one another and no one has replaced that in their hearts. The chemistry between these two is red-hot and steamy. Their story is one huge emotional rollercoaster. Do they finally get that HEA that they deserve? I don’t want to give any spoilers away so I will say this is a book that must be read for all the action, suspense, intrigue, angst, drama, heat and emotion will take you places. I cannot wait to read who next gets a book in this series.
