Blackburn by Brynne Asher is a short read, compared to her other books but it packs quite a punch and you won’t feel shorted when reading because there is definitely a ton of story backed into a shorter package-it’s a sexy, funny and steamy office romance but its so much more than that. There are twists and turns that just keep this story hopping!
Gabe Blackburn is the hero of this book and what a hero. He is epically swoon worthy! He is also a jerk and things he says and does will make you want to smack him. He is the boss's boss and is always trying to keep things professional. He is very much attracted to Lillian but because she is his employee, he has to stay away from her and when he is around her, stay professional. Lillian finds her boss’ boss to be rude, bossy, jerky and the most sexy man she has ever seen. She is professional and polite and super sweet when all she wants to do is tell him off. Things take a turn when Lillian finds she is going on a trip with Gabe overseas. During the week they are together, his jerky ways are driving her nuts. When things on their trip take a terrifying and deadly turn, Lillian finds Gabe surprises her in many ways , ways that are actually quite good. They ended up being a very sweet and sassy couple and the troubles that they went thru, bonded them together quite quickly. Their love story is stuff that you see on the movie screens- big, bold, enduring, heartfelt---once Gabe got past his “professional” thang. This story has it all- action, adventure, drama, angst, tension, passion, comedy and epic HEA. Blackburn will have you reading this all in one sitting. This is one MUST READ romance!
