The Life She Wished For by ChaShiree M is the second book in the Birds of Paradise series and tells the story of Phoenix (the youngest sister) and Mikhail. Phoenix is the youngest and all she ever wanted was someone to love her and protect her which is understandable after what she went thru in her childhood and with her upbringing. She meets Mikhail and feels this HUGE draw to him as almost if he is her soulmate. But then he disappears on her and Phoenix is lost, rudderless and doesn't what to do or how to feel. Then after a while, Mikhail shows back up and shows her how great they could be together. Thing is Phoenix is leery after his disappearing act and isn’t sure she can trust him and give their love another try. Especially when she has some secrets she wants to be able to tell him but she isn’t sure if she can trust him. Mikhail himself has a past that has some darkness and he has some serious secrets he is afraid to share with Phoenix..but what will happen if Phoenix finds out before he has a chance to tell her? This is one intense rollercoaster ride of emotions, with ups and downs..full of twists and turns. They have incredible chemistry and spark. I couldn’t stop reading once started and I was sad when the book ended. I look forward to reading more in this series and with these siblings.
