All I have to say is,
Kennedy Fox could write a menu and I would wanna keep it and read it, for
anything she writes, I adore!
In Book 3, Checkmate
series, we have two best friends
and roommates—this is Drew and Courtney ‘s story. Courtney has been in love with Drew, her best
friend’s brother for a number of years but he has never seen her as anything
but his sister’s BFF. Now that Travis and Viola are living the happily ever
after, Courtney is finally going to let Drew know how she feels about
him. If you read the previous two other books, you will remember that
Drew was in a bad relationship with a nutty ex GF Mia Montgomery. Mia
was toxic in so many ways. She strung Drew along for her amusement but there is
no love.
Courtney isn’t one to hold
back how she feels when she lets Drew know how she feels about Mia. As one of
his best friend, she only wants the best for him and the other reason is
she is desperately in love with him and she wants to let him know how she feels
but she cant when Mia is around. Finally
when Drew does kiss Courtney, its like there is no turning back once that line
gets crossed. As Drew and Courtney begins this new transition of friends to lovers,
we know there cant be happiness for our star-crossed lovers. Because we have a
certain X GF in the background waiting to strike—what happens when Mia decides
she wants Drew back? What evil does she have planned?
This book ends on a sudden
and eye opening cliffhanger. I am dying to know what happens next. It is going
to change everything when book 4 starts. If you like fast paced , erotic , sexy
romances then you have it here with Ms. Fox’s Checkmate series. The heroines
are independent, sassy, sexy, fiery while the men are alpha, hot , tender, SAF,
and have such big hearts. I loved how they love their women even though they do
stupid things at times.
I know that this is one of my
favorite series and is definite a re-read of mine. I am definitely looking
forward to book 4 with baited breath.
