Monday Girl was an emotional
experience in reading but OMG The Someday Girl definitely blows MG out of the
water. This book is so deep and full of
emotional growth yet also has that angst, that sexual tension and heat. Julie
Johnson wrote a masterpiece that
takes the reader on a journey that will take you on a story about a broken girl and the story of
her twisted love life which is a disaster of her making. Of her learning the
meaning of what true love is and the meaning of true heartbreak. Of her
learning of who she really is and of finding her way back to her true
love. This is really Kat
Firestone’s story, not a story of Kat, Wyatt and Grayson. It’s
the story about Kat , a walking disaster of a woman who makes some pretty bad
decisions but throughout the wake of what has burned in her pain, Kat is still
the sweet woman who just wants to find love and be loved.
We get to see Kat’s star
rising while she promotes her career, the rounds to various parties and the
attack of the paparazzi toward Kat. I
found how the author wrote Kat and her journey toward finding out who she truly
was and what she was wanting is fantastic. I used MANY Tissues during the
reading of this story. Kat’s journey is , at times, messy, ugly and
eye opening. She comes to a realization and it helps her with come to the only
conclusion that is needed to make that journey home and to the right person.
This is a story that is
painful at times, gritty, and full of self-discovery for the main character –
The author doesn’t hold any punches and I love how she writes the dark, the
ugly and the pain when she is taking layer upon layer off in this story while
shining the light in. It was beautiful yet heartbreaking at the same time; I
loved it and I have to say, it comes off as easy to read but wow it must have
been hard to write. With all the characters involved so kudos to the author for
how to wrote, it was fabulous. There are
several momentous parts in this story that have twists and turns and I was on
the edge of my seat. I have to tell you, the ending had me crying messy, sobby
tears which has me wondering one lingering question which the author can only
answer. When you read the book, Im sure you will have the same question. But
you leave this book knowing Kat comes out of the dark and into the light. She
makes it thru and that to me, was worth all the pain she went thru. I read this
book and was like, YES!! This duet is so mind blowing great and I highly
recommend this !
