"All-consuming, deep, seductive, so damn emotional—this book is everything I expect from Jewel E. Ann.”
—Pam Godwin, New York Times bestselling author
Look the Part, an all-new “emotional and breathtaking” standalone from
Jewel E. Ann is LIVE!
Synopsis
Flint Hopkins finds the perfect tenant to rent the space above his Minneapolis-based law office.
All the T’s are crossed and I’s dotted on Ellen’s application. Her references are good. And she’s easy on the eyes.
Until …
Flint discovers Ellen Rodgers, Board-Certified Music Therapist, plays music. Bongos, guitars, singing—not Beethoven administered through noise-cancelling headphones.
The cut-throat attorney serves up an eviction notice to the bubbly, constantly-humming redhead who's too sexy for her own good. But luck is on Ellen’s side when Flint’s autistic son, Harrison, takes an instant liking to her. A single dad can’t compete with guitars—and rats. Yes, she has pet rats.
This woman …
She’s annoyingly happy with a constant need to touch him—adjust his tie, button his shirt, invade his space, and mess with his mind.
Still …
She must go.
Their lust-hate relationship escalates into something beautiful and tragic. This sexy, romantic-comedy explores the things we want, the things we need, and the impossible decisions parents and children make to survive.

******** MY REVIEW **********
******** MY REVIEW **********
LOOK THE PART: is a full length standalone contemporary romance novel by
Jewel E. Ann. It is told in a dual POV.
The prologue is so powerful and
it sets the tone for this story. I really got a feel for Flint Hopkins , the
man who has everything and in an instant, he is left broken and his life is
changed forever.
Flint made a mistake. A huge
one. And his life is never going to be the same because of it. Now he’s doing
all that he can do to get by and make the best life he can for his son. I
remember Flint from Ms. Ann’s previous story “One” and he made such an impact
on me then that I had prayed he would get his own book. Look The Part can
easily be read as a standalone.
When the story is in present
time, thirty five year old Flint Hopkins is an hot uptight lawyer with a long suffering
assistant Amanda that is fired it seems on
a daily basis and Flint is a single father to twelve year old mildly
autistic son Harrison. Flint has now signed a woman named Ellen Rodgers
to be his new tenant. Ellen is 32 years old, recently divorced and
just moved to Minneapolis. She is a musical therapist who has just signed a
lease with Flint to rent the space above his lawyers’ office but all the
noise from her practice is driving Flint nuts—like seriously nuts to the point
he now wants her gone. With the ink not even dry on her rental agreement, he is
issuing an eviction notice. But the problem is his son really likes
Ellen. Ellen and Harrison get along really well and she is able to reach out to
him and touch a part of him that no one else has ever been able to. And this is
where the story really starts and blossoms….Flint doesn’t want to open his
heart and let Ellen in…and Ellen has a lot of pain in her past and she doesn’t want to let her heart fall victim to
love after what she recently just got out of. How can two people evade love’s
game? This is the ultimate game of push/pull, more on Flint’s part than Ellen’s.
She has fallen for Flint’s son and in turn for Flint. There are a lot of
moments that are filled with angst and emotions, but at the same time, there is
humor and wit, with laughter and witty banter. I loved the cast of characters.
I enjoyed the beautifully crafted romance that Ms. Ann wrote. They awaken
something in one another. A Want, a need, a desire for more in each other’s
lives. I loved watching how out of despair
comes beauty.
