ARC Review of Indebted To A King (The King Brothers #2) by Lisa Lang Blakeney

Indebted To A King (The King Brothers #2)Indebted To A King by Lisa Lang Blakeney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been eagerly awaiting this book , for Cutter and Sloan’s story and let me say it didn’t disappoint!! Cutter King is a dominant, sexy, seductive yet laid back man who loves the ladies. Sloan is a sassy, independent and strong woman who has trouble letting show her vulnerable side. Cutter comes from a less than desirable background while Sloan from a privileged background was a bit of a princess because of her background and who her family was. Cutter and Sloan are fabulous characters and I loved seeing them fleshed out in this book-as compared to previous books and getting their history more in this story. We know from previous books that Cuter is Roman’s business partner and that Sloan is Elizabeth’s best BFF. Roman calls Sloan the “Glamazon” behind her back while Elizabeth wonders about the sparks between Cuter and Sloan whenever they are in the same room since things are so hot between them. In previous books, the relationship between Cutter and Sloan was always kept hidden but wow here things were burst wide open and we get to see how they got together and what brought them together and what drama drew them apart. Cutter and Sloan’s relationship was full of angst and drama. It wasn’t as full of angst compared to the other books but it was full of intense sexual chemistry which I loved. Cutter fell hard for Sloan as she was captivated by him. I loved watching Sloan fall hard for Cutter and how she opened her personality and show who she truly was for him. When she was at work, she was calm and quiet, determined and sensible yet when she was with Cutter, she was sassy and sexy, full of spunk. The difference in her personality was amazing and Cutter was the key. Cutter was hunkolicious and I loved getting to know him in this story- he was dominant, protective, edgy and alpha in this book…he didn’t let anyone come between him and his Sloan. Not to say he himself didn’t cause problems with Sloan but he was determined to prove his mettle to the woman of his dreams. Sloan’s life goes thru an uproar in this book due to some characters in her life-some from her work and some from her personal life which were determined to cause her pain and ruin. Cutter could only do what he knew what to do best. There is just enough amount of conflict created which caused angst and drama which was addictive. There was also the variety of characters in Ms. Blakeney’s series that also popped up in this book that I enjoyed getting to visit with again. It was addictive to come back and read what is going on with these characters lives, especially with Roman and Elizabeth. Cutter and Sloan gave me such chills and thrills with their romance. I was literally on the edge of my seat several times with how things went and when the story ended I was sad for I didn’t want the book to end. I am looking forward to more books in the King Brothers world. Ms Blakeney has a great series on her hands and has written a book with such a wide range of human emotions. There is love, jealously, loss, anger…and beautiful 2nd chances. I can’t wait to be able to read the next book that comes out by this author .
