The Bad Guy is a stand-alone dark romance/suspense thriller that has all these layers woven throughout the story which makes this such a complex and complicated romance read which I adored!!!
Sebastian Lindstrom is your anti-hero , sexy and very anti social. He is very intense and when his employee brings his girlfriend to a work event he fixates on her to an alarming degree. Camille Briarlane is a biology teacher living a safe life with a “safe” boyfriend who is on his way up the corporate ladder. She goes to a work event with her boyfriend where she encounters his boss named Sebastian and something about him calls to her yet he also gives her the creeps. There is this attraction between them but she isn’t going to pursue the attraction. As her boyfriend begins to press hard for commitment from Camille, she knows she isn't ready for anything further from said boyfriend. An opportunity opens up for this work study program that she wanted in and its over Christmas and she signs up to be in it. Meanwhile Sebastian hasn’t forgotten Camille and has decided on a rather dangerous course of action on how to get Camille for after he has met her, he knows she is exactly what she needs in his life and to help him. But is Camille ready for what Sebastian wants?
This dark and seductive story is also a suspense thriller and has many twists and turns woven into the story. Many times I didn’t know what was going to happen until the exact moment. And I thought I knew a character until that character ended up being so vile and evil and the “evil” character really wasn’t as bad as I thought. This story is told in dual POV and is the darkly rich tale with an anti hero that I love to read about. Sebastian is one anti-hero that I came to adore and wanted to read more about . Camille is a heroine that I warmed up to and by the end of t he story , came out of her shell and was a red blooded woman who was with the right man. This is an awesome read and the author did a perfect job writing a hero who isn’t perfect but making him relatable and to have you crave him as someone you want. I never wanted this story to end.
