Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That's why God created central air, after all. Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy--she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says. In addition to being a wife and mom, she's also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books--romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it's a passion...there's a difference. This is a sort of spin off from the The Locklaine Boys series . This is “Chance Encounters” -you don’t have to read the The Locklaine Boys series in order to read this book but I highly recommend reading the LBS because it is one of the best series out there.
This is the story of Chance Hoffman and Melany Fitzgerald. If you have read Ms. Prince’s other series then you know all about Chance—if not, then don’t worry you will get to know him and fall in love with him in this book. Chance is the poor soul who has been unlucky in love --He is always in the dreaded friend-zone but he takes it on the shoulder and takes it well. Chance is a sexy attorney who is just waiting for Ms. Right. He comes across as sweet, romantic and a man that woman would want to be with. The moment he meets Melany he feels there is more to her than comes across but feels that he will get –yet again—put in the friend zone. He meets her his ex’s engagement party where she comes off as this slightly awkward woman. He likes her and wants to help her figure out who she really is instead of what she thinks she is.
Melany has had a really rough life. You name it, its happened. My heart went out to her and I wanted to hug her tight. Because of the life she has had, she doesn’t talk to really anyone and is withdrawn yet she yearns to connect and make friends yet she doesn’t know how. She ends up meeting Chance and they develop this friendship. Chance sees something in Melany that calls out to him and endears her to him and from there this story really gets going.
Also, we see characters from previous books we have met before and how their relationships are going
There is drama, angst, discovery, heartbreak, joy and above all love. This is a beautiful tale about how love does come out a winner and how the good guy gets the girl. I loved reading Chance & Melany’s story –it is great and there will be a few times that you will yell at your Kindle but the ending makes up for the times you yell at the characters. I loved it!
