Ms. Day has a serious hit on
her hands with the Silver Lake series. I have read each and every book in this
series and each book feels like the first time- fresh, exciting and such a sexy
paranormal romance read.
This is Viena Summers
& Devon McKinnon story. Viena is or was an evil Goddess. She was
such a bad person you would think she couldn’t change but in the past half year
she has ever since she has come into contact with Silver Lake. I mean literally
being in contact with Silver Lake, being dipped in the Lake and then she became
cleansed over time in Silver Lake due to all the healing properties and her
evil ways have disappeared over time. Now she needs to prove to everyone that
she is not the evil Goddess that they know and she must make up for all the
harm she has done , especially to Devon.
This was something I didn’t know if the author could do- which was make
me like and root for the heroine in this book but strangely enough, she did. I
could feel her struggles, see how hard she was trying to prove to everyone how
she truly had changed and that she wanted to make up for all she had done.
Devon McKinnon is
a Wolf Shifter whose fated mate is a liar, a
thief and a host of all other things, among them is almost a murderer. He doesn’t
want to want her; his wolf is driving him mad with needing her. Part of him wants to believe her, wants to
believe his wolf but he doesn’t trust her at all. He thinks she is up to
something terrible. Did she really truly change or is she still the same evil
person she has always been?
There is a lot going on in this book- a lot with the changelings, a lot with
previous characters. The changelings are causing all sorts of problems for
everyone. Viena does everything she can to protect her new family and friends
even when they think she is still evil but she ends up in trouble. Will Devon
and his family/friends be able to reach her in time, will they want to?
This is a jam action packed story, with emotion, with angst, passion and
with hope. I loved this story and cannot wait for the next story in this
shifter world.
