**** MY REVIEW ****
TURN ME ON by J. Kenner is
book Seven in the Man of the Month series. This is the story of
Derek and Amanda. This is a part of the series but can be read as a
standalone. These two met at the bar The Fix and had an instant chemistry/attraction.
Derek only visits Austin about once a month through his job with his family's
hotel chain and Amanda is still trying to build back her career after the mess
from her last boyfriend which caused her to lose ground. This is a short book
compared to some of the others in the series. Derek wanted to pursue a
relationship from the get-go but Amanda saw things differently. She was
determined to avoid a relationship at all costs. Because
of what happened to her in the past, she was determined to not let it happen to
her again and to protect her heart so she tried to hide her relationship from
her friends for many reasons and to do the hookup just once a month yet that
insane chemistry they shared just made things hotter and more difficult for
her. She knew that their relationship wasn’t a causal thing, it was deeper than
that. Will Amanda and Derek be able to
past the one night a month to a life time dream ?
This was a sweet and
emotional read that will capture your heart- note, there is an unexpected twist
to Turn Me On that leads phenomenally into the foundation
for the next story, book 8- Shake It Up featuring Derek's cop friend Landon!
