Delaney first meets Maverick Monroe when she starts at college. She is out at a freshman bonfire when she meets Maverick while out with friends. She isn’t interested in football players and makes sort of a flippant remark that he overhears and from that he turns around on her and gets her intrigued yet somehow leaves her with a lasting impression--- one where eyes connect and butterflies can be seen flying—that sort. The connection and brief moment is fleeting but Delaney remembers it several years later. Maverick has always had a crush on Delaney, in fact, he has had deep feelings for her but Delaney is not like the football groupies out there. She is so intelligent, kind, shy, a geek girl, beautiful, witty…just the kind of woman for him but someone who wouldn’t give him the time of day due to how their first meeting went. Maverick fits his name- he is outspoken, sexy, hot, cocky and hard working. These two people definitely belong together but misunderstandings and misinformation have caused them to not be sure about one another. In this college set drama, can they put the past behind them and forge ahead and let the intense attraction and chemistry led them to a new beginning or will the past still stand between them? Ilsa Madden-Mills has written a very entertaining and in-depth drama that will captivate and enthrall from page 1 until the very last word written. This is a super quick and light read, but there are some emotional moments that will have you grabbing the tissues. Delaney and Maverick are the true stars in this story and I love their endearing romance.
