Hunter's Mark by Wendy Smith is the 4th book in the Copper Creek series. This is the story of Constance and Corey. I really loved getting into these main characters because they came off as believable and relatable. This is a story that I found myself instantly immersed in and totally loving. Corey lives alone and is somewhat isolated from everyone but he has family close by that he visits and can count on. His future sister in law Lily is someone he deeply cares for and has a bond with; they are preparing for her marriage to his brother Adam. Corey finds it hard to release his deeper feelings for her and in the midst of this all happening, Constance lands in his life like a light from out of the darkness. Corey didn’t ever believe in love at first sight but with Constance, he really fell hard and totally in love with her. Constance comes from the compound that boarders on an a cult which is next door to Adam’s land. She was sheltered while growing up but is very educated. She is sweet, kind and innocent. Adam is broody, quiet and protective. These two come from different backgrounds but yet they have this instant chemistry that lights up as soon as they meet. Constance escaped from the group because their leader has pretty much gone off the deep end and tried to give Constance away without any sayso from Constance, and the person he picked is pure evil. Constance made her way out and lands with Corey who offers her safe passage on his lands and in his home. He offers to protect her and keep her safe from harm. The story really picks up as it focuses on Corey and Constance budding relationship. Also in this book we get to see how the other brothers and their beloveds are doing. We get to see how those couples are doing currently and what problems they may be facing. I fell totally in love with Corey and Constance. There was intrigue, suspense, drama, passion, action and love. I loved the twists and turns this book has; as for who is left out of the brothers- that leaves James and there seems to be a huge secret as to who his “one” is. I cant wait for the final book in the Copper Creek series.
