Gia Riley has followed
up “Wrong Side Of Heaven” book 1 with
book 2 “The Edge of Heaven” and I have to say I am left completely
and emotionally drained. I am not sure what to think. I started feeling one way
and ended up feeling another way. Ms. Riley has a way of drawing you into the characters’, of having you
feeling exactly how they feel, of meshing you into the characters’ lives in
such a way that you never want the story to end yet you root for one outcome,
when another takes place. This story is one that is not , in my opinion, a HEA
but more of a HFN ending. I struggle emotionally with how the book
ended. I am ok with who Winnie ends up with but I guess I would have
liked more of an ending that what occurred. Winnie’s journey is emotional,
angst ridden and filled with pain. The reader is taken on an emotional
rollercoaster ride- I was not at all expecting the end that Ms. Riley gave us.
I will say the author took the reader on such a journey, on Winnie’s journey
and what a journey it was. I do hope the author will give us a novella with
Winnie down the road for I do not feel her story is done yet. When reading this
phenomenal story, you will understand what I mean. Ms. Riley has such a way
with words and with a storyline that she immediately draws the readers in. I
hated when the story ended for she drew me into Winnie, Trey and Jasper’s
story. This was one of my favorite duets I have read of late. I do hope we get
to see more of Winnie down the road.
