Rock Solid by Carly Phillips
is book four in the "Book Boyfriend" series. This is the
final book in this series of standalones. This is Connor’s story and I
have eagerly been waiting his book since he was in Big Shot and I have to say
the wait was definitely worth it!!!! We start out in the past 3 years. Connor is stuck in the airport on Valentine’s
Day. Since the airport is shut down, he gets a room and goes to
find a place to eat; he sees this beautiful woman he captivates him so he goes
over to her. Katie was in Denver to surprise her boyfriend and things ended up
going , well, pretty bad for her. She wants to fly back home and lick her
wounds but with the airport shut down and her flight cancelled, she can't fly
back to Chicago until the next day. They ended up meeting, talking and
well… they end up getting hot and steamy together. Connor wakes up the next
morning and Katie is gone. He assumes it was just a night of magic and they
will never meet not see each other again.
Fast forward 3 years later, Katie contacts him and
Connor’s life changes when he hears 3 words he never expected to hear EVER
coming from Katie. Connor is ready to assume his responsibilities because he is
not one to shirk anything.
Katie sees him in the
newspapers and knows it is time to tell him about his three year
old daughter. She expected Connor to not want to be involved and
was happy to see him enthused by his daughter and realized she was worried for
nothing. Connor’s approach to getting to know his daughter was sweet.
Now Katie has trust issues ( her parents weren’t the best and her past love
life wasn’t the best to give her faith ) and she doesn’t know what to believe
in or who to trust. Connor wants her and his daughter. These two were meant to
be. Will she be able to allow the man who did more than sweep her off
her feet and leave her with beautiful memories into her life and share the
beautiful daughter they created? This is such a beautiful story and the
road to their HEA was one full of angst, heartbreak, struggle, pain and ends
with passion, chemistry , caring, and love. I am sad
this is the end of the series. I would recommend that you read each and every
book in The Book Boyfriend series. This is very much a fabulous read.
