PIPER I shut off the water but before I can put my toothbrush away, Matthew is standing behind me, pressing his body against me. Shanora has done it again! If you are looking for a short holiday read, then you are in for a treat with Temporary Boyfriend. Piper is looking to bring home a “boyfriend” for the holidys to keep her family off her back because they don’t think she has it in her to find a proper boyfriend. Piper is someone who doesn’t do things in the right order, she is a free spirit and she feels like she always disappoints her family because she isn’t more like they are- controlled and rigid, while she is goes jer own way-case in point like her job as an entertainment editor instead of something more serious which her family, especially her parents keep suggesting.
Piper is tired of disappointing her parents so she decides to show up to the family Christmas gathering with a boyfriend with her—only issue is she doesn’t have a boyfriend so she decides to hire one to play her fake boyfriend- which is where one Matthew Cooper - hunky escort for hire enters the picture. Their chemistry was off the charts yet neither wants to blur the line between pretend and reality. They keep fighting fate as Matthew doesn’t want to touch his client but each day it gets harder and harder to not do so especially when he is getting paid to do exactly that!
The witty banter between Piper and Matthew was sweet and sexy , plus the sizzling chemistry had me rooting for this couple. Add in the family issues from Piper’s side and a fake relationship with its steamy sexual tension, you have a recipe for a fake boyfriend to real boyfriend read. This is only a novella that is short, hot, low angst, full of feels, and fun. I loved this and if I had anything I didn’t like, well I wish we had an epilogue of this couple showing them together several months down the road , how things were going for them === otherwise, fabulous read!
