Collaring Cinderella by Isabella Starling is a modern and steamy twist on an old classic “Cinderella”. You have the hero who in this story is quite alpha , and a bit of a DOM; then you have the heroine who is still innocent but she is somewhat sassy and then there is the villain who is a villainess who is the step mother and in this story there is no step sisters. Oh so good is this story. I was all over this story and very engrossed—I didn’t want to stop reading.
Rafe is the alpha hero, who does what he wants, when he wants and doesn’t give a fig what anyone thinks EXCEPT the heroine Ella. Ella is very innocent and sweet. She is a bit sassy but so very kind and is not sure what Rafe wants with her. Ella is just trying to keep out of her step mother’s way and somehow that doesn’t seem to happen. Ella knows her step mother seems drawn to Rafe, being that she is the housekeeper there but all she wants is to go to college and get far away from her. Her step mother refuses to let her and now Rafe has set his sights on her; she finds him rakish and sexy but what does he really want with her ? Rafe wants Ella and he plans on making her his. Will Ella stick around and open her heart to him or will her wicked step mother ruin everything and cause Ella to go away?
This was a steamy, erotic read that had hints of BDSM along with the intense sexual tension. I found Rafe and Ella to be a fantastic couple. I loved their rocky road to romance perfect and wished their story never ended. The plot is tight, the play on the classic Cinderella awesome and the twist really great. I loved this standalone story and hope to read more stories like this from Isabella!!!
