Unrequited love is a
witch to bear, especially when you have this feeling for your best friend who doesn’t
realize you feel this way about him. This story hooked me in immediately
because it started with a bang- Greer and Asher have been close friends for
years and Asher never knew that Greer was in love with him. He only saw
her as a super good friend. Until one night, he got so drunk, he had a drunk
stand with Greer and practically passed out on her. Thing is, Greer was a
virgin and he made her 1st time as horrible as it could be. After
that episode, she made sure to be outta sight and outta mind but not so fast.
She comes to find out she is pregnant with Asher’s baby. Greer was
raised in a home where her father didn't love or care about her, she
refuses to let the same thing happen to her child. That isn’t Asher; he doesn’t cut or
run from bad things. He is a man who takes care of responsibilities and people
he loves and cares about. He is now coming to the realization that he is in
love with Greer but he made a huge mistake and let her go when he should have
held on tight. So Asher develops a plan, he will pose as her
father’s best man for his wedding and with Greer being the wedding planner; it
puts him in close contact with her. But Greer doesn't know if she can risk
having Asher hurt her again. The passion, the pain, the sexual tension
is all rife in this story. But there is also pleasure, sweetness and humor
shown. I loved Greer and Asher- they worked as a couple and yes, mistakes were
made between them, more Asher than Greer but he definitely went all alpha and
went about fixing what he did wrong. I loved that he wanted to be a better man
for his love and child. The only thing I didn’t understand was the weirdness
from Greer’s father toward her in this story. He never showed her any love nor
expressed any real feelings. I would
have liked to have seen a resolution in that regard but otherwise, this was a
lovely 2nd chance romance story with a kick.
