My Review:

This is such a complex and compelling read. There is so much that I want to tell you but there are layers to this story and I do not want to give spoilers away. There is two parts to the story –There is the owner’s sexy and young 17 yo daughter Ty Rollins who helps keep “her guys” in order and when the team brings in Chase Stern, famous for his talent but off field known for sleeping with other players wives, Ty was afraid he would hurt her “boys”. Little did she know how he would affect her life. The first part of the book, we see the love affair that develops between Chase and Ty. It is fast and beautiful. First love always is; When it comes to Ty, Chase acted differently around Ty. He treated her different. He saw her and realized she wasn’t a gold digger. The more time they spend together, the more they realize they have in common and the more they open up to each other. The love is there and they truly open up to each other until a huge twist occur and they are ripped away from each other. Ty tries to get Chase to speak to her but he refuses and at that moment, Ty’s fantasies of her first love, and her true love are gone and along with it, the secret she is holding.

In part two of the book, it is 4 years later, we see that Ty is now married to the owner’s son of Yankees and she is trying to make the best of her life without the love in her life. There is a change coming, and it takes another huge twist and turn to bring her first love, her only true love back into her life. But there is a murder mystery in this part of the book and it continues to escalate and it puts Ty’ s life at risk. There is so much going on, that I feel so much admiration for Ty-here she is, holding on and trying to make it all work until one day, she takes that leap and lets it all go for a chance to redo it all over. Can any of us say we did that? This book has so much going on that if it were a lesser author, it wouldn’t work but Ms. Torre makes it work and does it beautifully. I loved the 2^nd chance romance/reunited lovers/murder mystery story so much. The huge twist at the end and the beautiful and emotional ending wrapped this book up with a simple bow. The characters are complex, messy, demanding and emotional. Ty is one strong, sassy, independent, at times fragile woman. She went thru so much to finally get what she was owed. Chase was a manwhore who didn’t see what he did was wrong until he met his true love and he finally realized it. But he handled things wrong. He was an alpha male , one who loved sports, and never made mistakes until he made a huge one and paid for it for years.  These MC make this book and the supporting cast of characters will grab your heart .
