This is book 2 in The
Guardian series. In “Crossing
Hudson”, we are getting Hudson’s story. This is an emotional powerhouse of a
story which tells of Alpha Lycan Hudson Carver’s new assignment
that he is unhappy about- to be a babysitter to some slayer—oh and the laughs
over his incorrect thoughts over who he thought that person to be. When he
realized his mistake—the sparks start to fly.
Maryann “Ryan” Mackenzie
looks like an angel but really is a spitfire. She has had a rough time in her
life— Went from protected “mate” to slayer all because evil mistaken her twin for
her. Then she had one special night with her mate , and he promised he would be
back for her but he has never come back which left her heartbroken but with
something she holds most cherished and she would do anything to protect. So now
she is a slayer and she trains future slayers…all the while trying to keep the
evil away from her…all because of “him” and she cant even remember what he
looks like.
The POWERS THAT BE have
played a most interesting game with these two and the twists and turns that
this book has thrown at us, the readers, kept me glued. If The Guardian didn’t give
me a clue, then omg, then I definitely got a clue TPTB love messing with the
MCs and trying to keep them apart. I was rooting for them and you will too.
Poor Ryan, every time she thought she was finally getting ahead, she would get
hit with bad news…but she kept fighting. #GIRLPOWER. Then there is Hudson, what will happen when
he and she both realize the truth and when the secret comes out? Can Ryan
forgive and will Hudson remember? There was so much thrown at me/the readers in
this story but in a good way. We realize TPTB aren’t so nice and there is more
going on. It will blow your mind. Will Ryan be able to let go and embrace the
future or hold on to the pain in the past—will Hudson be able to remember the
past and be able to let go of the pain of the past to embrace their future? You
will have to read this fantastic new chapter in #THEGUARDIANS series.
There is so much emotions and angst wrapped
into this story along with the sexual passions that you would expect from a
Mandy M Roth story. It is so good and I cannot wait to read more in the
Guardians series.
