Alice Story rebelled against her father and quit his company after years of doing everything that was expected of her. Now three years later she owns her own successful business, but she has no real love or social life. The only man she truly trusts is the only employee of her father's that took a chance and went with her, Carlos Vega. Carlos is a younger, and of a Puerto Rican heritage who has been Alice ‘s “ right hand man”. Carlos would rather be more to Alice , he would love to catch her eye and have her seen him as a man , see him other than just a business associate. But he doesn’t think that day would ever come… never say never.
When Alice gets a business deal in Puerto Rico which is in Carlos’s hometown, it is naturally considered that Carlos would accompany Alice on the trip. As soon as they get to their destination, all heck breaks loose and that is when Alice starts to see Carlos in a different vein. She sees him as a “Latin” Lover, this hero, and a man that she has deeper feelings for but she doesn’t know if Carlos could ever have those feelings for. Will the differences between them end up tearing them apart for good or will they bring them together forever?
I enjoyed reading about a female lead who is more in assertive while Carlos is laid back until he was pushed to the extreme and then he became a possessive alpha male. I Enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters and the flow of this story. The ending really worked for this story .
