Daddy Ever After by Emilia Beaumont is one hot and intense read. Emilia is one of my go to authors for a read when I need something to read because her stories will keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat, plus the heat and chemistry from her characters are fantastic!
The story starts with Eliza who is a reporter who wants to desperately escape working in the classified section of a local paper. Gareth is a reclusive billionaire and Eliza's mother's boss. Her mom is injured on the job and Gareth is going to permanently replace her mother unless Eliza fills in till her mother can return. Eliza sees this as an opportunity to help her mom AND write a story about the reclusive billionaire who will get her out of the dead end job and into the opportunity of her career. Thing is, Gareth is extremely private, even goes so far as to have all employees sign a NDA prior to beginning to work for him. Gareth acts cold towards Eliza- says nasty things to her and acts controlling and then he starts to act more like a father at times. Very controlling and then things take a sexual turn where Gareth says inappropriate sexual things that make Eliza uncomfortable and turn her on –this confuses her but she wants him—the heat between them is insanely good. I loved the push/pull between them. Unknown to Eliza, Gareth was never going to fire her mother, he only wanted Eliza there in his house. He has wanted her for a long time. There is a good reason why and you have to read this story to find out why. This book is filled with action, suspense, mystery, hot sex, adventure, and intense love. I do want to note there is some DD/lg activity which enhances this story greatly. There is some twists and turns and the ending is beautiful.
