This book was a quick novella style type read. It is fashioned after the Harlequin Presents romance novels- In my opinion. This is a paranormal books if you do not like reading books like this, you might want to give this and others in this series a pass but I do think you would like them.
'The Alpha's Secret Family' by Jessie Lane is book three in the "Howls Romance" series. This is the story of Stone who is an Alpha Wolf Shifter who finds his mate by chance after seeing Dia and then finding out Dia is moving to town to take over her Mentor's Beauty Shop. Mia does NOT want to be in any relationships at this time so she blows him off time and time again but Stone is one determined alpha determined to get his mate. Finally Dia gives in –but it becomes apparent that someone doesn’t want them to be together and that when the story really takes off . It’s a whodunit of who is after the Alpha’s mate –there are many twists and turns. Things happen which separate Stone and Dia – some heartbreak and angst. Some devious things and then finally some happiness for the MC. My only minor complaints would be I wish that Stone and Dia weren’t separated as long, and that this story was longer. I loved their chemistry, their banter, and the complexness that made them who they were. Stone was so alpha and resolute while Dia was sassy and sweet--This was awesome and I cannot say enough good things about this book except the two minor ones I listed. This is a great series and if you like Harlequin books and the paranormal; this is the series and book for you.
