Kate Canterbary could
write a phone book and I would purchase it. That is how phenomenal she writes! Her
stories are full of life, love,
angst, passion, intelligence and wit. That is what makes her such a draw every
time and what draws me in whenever I sit down to read –I literally cannot stop
until the book is finished and that is what happened here with “Coastal
Elite”.
Coastal Elite is a
spin off on the Walsh Family. Jordan is a former Navy SEAL who now owns his own security
company while April is an acupuncturist, cake decorator and yoga teacher
(busy lady). The tie to the Walsh Family
is that Jordan and Will are business
partners. Jordan is going thru
some issues in his life so off he goes to just recover when he meets April.
She is very different from the women who grace his life. She makes him laugh, smile--
Things that were very absent up to that
point or were not really seen by Jordan of late. They are so different but yet
they connect. April is a very sassy and sweet woman who is outgoing and
friendly. Someone whom you immediately connect with.
This story is little different than the Walsh Family series
but its just as good. There is a bit of mystery/suspense going on in the story
involving Jordan which happens toward middle/end of the story. It definitely
kept me on my toes. Overall, this is more of Jordan/April story with some
spoilers wrapped in this book about previous characters from the Walsh series.
I enjoyed the humor, the passion and the angst that comes thru. I connected
with the characters and I felt as it these were family members, or good friends
I was reading about. That is how good KC writes. I cannot wait to read more spin
off books from Ms. Canterbary.
