ARC REVIEW OF Drake (The Powers That Be, Book 5) BY Harper Bentley

I love Harper Bentley’s books but this is the first time I read a book from her “Powers that Be” series. I loved Drake which is book #5 in the series. It had so much emotion= there is angst, bitterness, jealously, unrequited love, sexual tension, passion, secrets and in the end, LOVE.

This is Drake and Honor’s love story.  Drake is a very closed off man who treats Honor pretty bad when she brings her car into his dad’s shop for repair. Honor doesn’t understand why this man, Drake, is so rude and ugly towards her. Honor is a sweet and kind young woman who works hard and cant understand why this man instantly dislikes her.  

Drake sees Honor as a “game changer” and tries to resist her so he treats her so bad until one interaction changes the score between them. There are many up and downs between this couple. I loved how their story developed and the mystery that is Drake and his past which intrudes into his present. Honor is a sweetheart, putting up with his jerkiness , his bite when she wasn’t the issue.

Also we have a mini second story going on between Honor’s brother Victor and Honor’s BFF Kelsey. I loved reading about their relationship woes as it added another level to this beautiful angsty romance story.

This definitely had some suspenseful moments, along with the spicy and hot romance. I loved the characters in this story. I can’t wait to go back and read the other books in this series and I look forward to more books in the Powers that Be series by Ms. Bentley.
