As a working nurse, Joy Wood has been creating stories in her head for years, but never found the time to do anything with them – life just got in the way somehow.
Two years ago, she moved to Cleethorpes, in Lincolnshire, and loves nothing better than walking along the sea front. She particularly enjoys the melancholy charm of the seaside in winter. Neighbours think she is so healthy walking for hours each day, what they don’t realise is, she stops off for endless refreshments along the way, and on occasions, the odd bacon sandwich!
Daily, watching the tide turn, gave her the idea for her debut novel, For the Love of Emily. She would develop the characters in her head, and create the chapters on her laptop when she returned home. At various book signings, readers would ask Joy if she was the nurse they’d seen in the local newspapers, which gave her the idea that maybe readers would like a romance based around a nurse, so that’s where the idea for Knight & Dey initially came from.

This is a good, well
written romance story that has
elements of suspense to it. Oh and the heat level is very nice. I love the
backdrop which is set in a hospital
setting in England. The MC are a theatre sister & a hospital director.
It's a definite page turner that had me glued until the very end because
of the mystery of the story. There was some WTH moments which I was alittle
confused but that’s ok, the heat factor and the overall romance is so good, that I still
stayed glued to the story. Kathryn Knight
thought she had it all until she met the new hospital director Finley
Dey – and that is when her life
spun out of control. I don’t want to say anymore but I would recommend giving
this book a read and be prepared for some fanning and some cool drinks when
done. The ending was good which helped wrap this story up—I would have liked
alittle more into why a certain character was the way they were and how Kathryn
didn’t know and why she was deceived but hey, this was still a good book
without getting all that info.
