About the Author
Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero, the better, and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex... her books have sex.
She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends.
DOLLARS picks up right where Pennies (Dollar, #1) left off and it picks back up on the sensational and mind blowing story/journey of Pimlico and Elder . We watch as Pim and Elder both are shown to be battling their own demons, their own internal struggles but each other’s struggles are quite different. Pim yet again finds herself with a new Master..and she is unsure what game is being played. Pimlico is a deeply traumatized but in saying that , she is still very independent woman who digs deep for the core strength to keep her sane and strong. This proves to be part of her beauty and allure to men and makes them want her. Her recovery from the 2 years she was in captivity is a long road but she works hard to overcome. But during the time I read this book, I always wondered= is she really free or is she still in some form of captivity that she is not aware of?
Then we have Elder—oh I do love them bad boys and he is the ultimate bad boy. He is not innocent and he is one complicated villain. He battles himself and doubts everything he does. . Pim feels about the same way- confused and complicated as well when it comes to Elder. She starts to grow stronger in this book compared to last book because she decided to take back her life or at least take some sort of stand for herself.
There was a lot of background covered and there were a lot of twists to this story, small twists all leading up to this massive end scene. It’s like this book is giving you reasons for why books 1 happened and now here is why things are happening from here on out. Tissues will be needed because I had to cry and cry a lot, especially in the last chapter. Oh my gosh, Pepper Winters knows how to get me because Plim and Elder have this relationship that is built on what happened from book 1 and oh is it explosive and destructive yet at the same time, unique and dark and dangerous. This book is not for the faint of heart yet the emotion, the heat and the writing will all grab you and drag you in. Get ready for the journey DOLLARS: takes you on and leaves you begging for book 3.
