This is book 2 in the Oyster
Cove series- it is recommended that you start with book 1 to understand book 2.
In saying that, each book is a standalone but can somewhat intertwine.
Brant and Jamie had a past together but Brant did and
said things that pushed Jaime from him and out of his life. Ten years later, Brant
Wallace thought he had finally figured his life out , has been in a steady
relationship with his girlfriend Leigh for over 2 years and though
things weren’t that great, they still were together. Then suddenly everything
goes upside down and he finds out everything he thought he knew about Leigh were
lies and she lied about everything to him and did something so wrong, so very
wrong, its like he didn’t even know her.
Jamie Danvers spent
her summers in Chincoteague,
Virginia. It was here that she met the love of her life Brant Wallace
and where her heart was broke. She left, never expecting to see him again. She
moved on with her life, became a vet, married and then ended up separating from
her husband and moving back to Chincoteague with her veterinary practice.
Jamie is trying to forget her
past, trying to stay away from the one man she could never forgot, for she was
warned to stay away from him and he doesn't even knew she is back on the
island. Thing is, with Jamie being the only island vet, they are due to run
into each other at some point and they do when his dog gets sick they run into
each other. Oh my! It’s like lightning,
pure heat when they are around each other. Now Brant has to make some decisions on
what to do. Will he choose Jamie this time? Can Jamie finally let go of the pain of the past
and let Brant into the happiness of their future ?
I loved this story and found their 2nd chance love story very
beautiful and emotional. Oh that ex of Brant, she was a utter witch! I felt so
bad for Jamie and her marriage. Neither were happy with the mates they settled
with, they were only happy with each other.
Ms. Foor has a great way in telling the story, the connection with her
characters and getting the story across. I loved this book and cannot wait for
book 3 in this series.
