This book was phenomenal.
It is full of emotions- emotions that are unexpected, unique and at times
funny. OMG it is one of those books that will stay with you even after you have
finished it.
Parker comes home after an
extended absence to a strained family environment ( trust me, the family issues
are so messed up and I felt for Parker) and ends up meeting her neighbor Gus when she moves into the old farmhouse
across the street from her parents' house. She ends up getting to know him and she
connects with him and ….falls for him. Its forbidden and wrong and Parker knows
nothing good can come from it but she knows her neighbor loves his wife.
Yet he happens to be the sunshine in
her darkest days. We get to see how what is wrong is oh so right when
the author takes what is the normal and turns everything on its head to show
human nature. Then Tragedy happens and Parker’s path in life changes when she
meets a man who shows her that when “Life Happens”, her world doesn’t end.
There is so much I want to
say but I don’t want to give spoilers away. This is one of Jewel E Ann’s best
books!! It is breathtaking, heartbreaking, angsty, perfection
contemporary romance read!! This is a story that you DO NOT want to miss out
on. Parker and her story is one that will take you on a roller coaster of a
ride. And what a ride it is… What starts out as her returning home to the
family that is strained due to her twin sister’s actions, it ends up as Parker
coming to the realization what true love is but it takes tragedy to show this
to her.
