Title: Scarlet Stone
Author: Jewel E Ann
Genre: A romantic suspense standalone
Release Date: December 10th, 2016
Synopsis
“My name is Scarlet Stone, and my biggest fear is that someday I will find what I want most in life, and it will be impossible to steal.”
What happens when life just stops? When one moment makes you question your entire existence?
Scarlet Stone is a third-generation thief who has everything: a doting fiancé, a spacious London flat, and a legitimate job offer. In a single breath, everything becomes nothing, and she finds herself on a plane to Savannah, Georgia in search of the meaning of life.
After securing a six-month lease for a beachfront house on Tybee Island, Scarlet changes the way she looks, thinks, eats—basically her entire outlook on life. She needs peace, but what she gets is a housemate who looks like Thor, acts like a warden, and smells her proximity like a Bloodhound.
Theodore Reed is a carpenter and perfectionist with a body built of steel, a black, hollow heart, and a hunger for revenge. He doesn’t like company, girly-smelling crap, and British accents.
He resents every breath she takes.
She’s fascinated by his every move.
In time, they discover their coexistence is toxic, their physical attraction is electric, the secrets they keep mean the difference between life and death, and the only truth they share is that everything is a lie.
“Over eighty-five percent of the world's population believes in a higher power, yet, very few people believe in miracles.”

My Review:
OMG! WOWZA WOWWOWWOW!! This
is one of the best books that has come out in 2016 AND I don’t say that
lightly. This is a book that is a romance novel along with a mystery as well.
It is something that you have to experience while reading, I just cant tell you
about it because it will give spoilers away BUT what I can say is the heroine, one
British woman named Scarlet, has a very powerful story and in the first
5 minutes of the book, you will already have an inkling but nowhere close. The
in the next 25 minutes, you will find see the beginnings of a enemies to lovers
Scarlet and her new roommate Theodore Reed have coming together and that’s
just in the beginning of the book. But that’s not just what this story is
about. I didn’t know where this book was going to take me so I just read and
allowed me to go on this powerful and intriguing journey that is mired in
suspense and mystery. Scarlet stumbles over this mystery and she wants to solve
it and she cant leave well enough alone. Scarlet is an odd bird but that’s what
I loved about her. She is so unique and sassy. She is odd but very sweet. Has
hidden depth about her –Has come to solve meanings about her own life but what
that is, it pretty much takes up the book to truly figure it out. Her getting
into it with her roommate is icing on the cake. Now this roommate -Theodore Reed-he
has some baggage of his own. He is one moody and angry guy. He doesn’t like his things
touched or people in the house he is renting. That is why you will have to read
to find out how Scarlet gets in and becomes his roommate –its part of the whole
story. Theodore and Scarlet have this insane chemistry together
and they just clicked. They challenged each other. Made each other look
at life differently. But there was a reason Theodore came of as angry
and why he didn’t want to truly get involved with anyone and of course being a
thief (although reformed) only got Scarlet into
trouble. With Theo and with a
cast of other supporting characters. The characters have layers and within
those layers are who they really are. They aren’t just there on the surface so
you definitely will like how the author have written it where the characters
have more than just the surface to go, to dig for information.
Scarlett has a journey, she has a desire and not all of it is for this
mystery. It is to find out her purpose. Her purpose was not just to finish her
journey but to find someone to complete her, for her to find love and oh so
much more. I loved how the author didn’t just tie this story up when the love
part looked done, no she made sure to add that level of complex level-ness to
make sure everything would then get wrapped up with a nice and tight bow. Oh
and the tissues will definitely be needed by the time this book is over. I
cannot say enough good things about this book and of the MC and of the meaning
that this book was trying to impart. I won’t tell you what it is about except
to say go read this book and discover a true gem written by a very talented
author who gets you to do some true thinking about life and its meaning in a different
way. I know after I read this book, I started looking back and thinking about
things a bit differently and still I couldn’t get this book out of my head.
That is a sign of a fabulously GREAT and Wonderful book.
