This is one story that has several levels of angst, and of heartbreak. You can see the pain coming like a train wreck, you want to stop it but you can’t . In this story, Kat Firestone is an actress that has blended into the background pretty much all her life . Made to take a path she didn't want, tormented by her failures , she never expected to land a dream role in an acting role that would take her to Hawaii, starring next to the Sexiest Man Alive Grayson Dunn. Kat thinks she doesn’t deserve this role but she has good friends that keep her grounded and tell her she earned this role and are there to lift her up –my favorite of her friends is Harper. She is such a great friend and I loved her . She is one of those supporting characters that really shines thru.
This story makes you
think. There is angst, there is pain, there is love and there is darkness. Oh
there are ups and downs, twists and turns. When the author writes about archetypes and stereotypes, I wasn’t sure
what she meant but as the story progressed, it became clear. I began to see
what the author meant. See, you should know who the villains are, who the
hero/heroine are and in this book, everything wasn’t so clear cut. But by the
end of the book, everything was clearer. This book will show the darkness
in a person at the same time having us root for the light to shine thru and
win. Grayson is someone you feel
for , you want to root for but at the same time want to smack up side the head
multiple times. He and Kat have this chemistry but Grayson only sees Kat as someone temporary ,
not permeant and he doesn’t do relationships then we have Wyatt Hastings- he and Kat instantly
connect as well. Wyatt is always there to lift Kat up and keep her choosing the
sunshine. The ending was one huge cliffhanger and boy I cant wait for book 2
but it wont be out until Feb 2017. Julie Johnson really outdid herself with The
Monday Girl. Kat and her issues , and her men. Who will she end up
with and what will happen after the epic cliffhanger? I cant believe we have to
wait until Feb 2017.
