ARC Review of Call Me, Maybe by by Ellie Cahill

This was a pleasant story but no real oomph. Clementine Daly comes from a super wealthy family who dislike scandal in their family. When she Was 19 years old, she had a mini scandal and ever since then her family has never forgiven her. Now her family has her “watched”….from her neighbors to even her so called friends rat her out.

Now Clementine is being called to “duty” and told to go out and help her family’s company ; basically it’s a prove herself kind of mission. So she runs and does what is required to prove she is sorry for her one mistake she made years before. Clem is really a homebody. She runs a book blog; she keeps to herself and has tried to stay on the straight and narrow. At the airport she bumped into a handsome and sexy man named Justin and somehow their cell phones got swapped- he has her phone and she has his cell phone. Well when the mistake is discovered, the two exchanged text messages with each other and that is how the story really got started. It all started from text messages, it went on to phone calls to really sexual seduction over the phone. The problems lie in the fact that she didn’t tell him who she really way- like her full name and what her family was like. Also, she got super jealous out of nowhere for no reason. Their relationship started pretty much on whim and went from there. She went from a stranger to a girlfriend like that and she had the vibe at times as a crazy girl. I couldn’t grasp why she felt the need to so suspicious of his movements.

This could have had the makings of a great story but as it is, just has the elements of an ok story which depending on how the reader takes this, could be good or great. I do like this author and would be willing to read her again but this is not one of her better stories.
