MY REVIEW:
WOW!! This book starts out in
a hot and sexy way. It’s a flash back to the past when Joss O’Neil threw all
sense out and had hot sex with a man she just met in the bathroom of a
bar. It was a fantastic one night
stand in a bar , and it wasn’t repeated. She never saw this guy again and so
the story fast forwards one year later and she ends up seeing her one night
stand –he is her new boss - Lieutenant Maddox "Heartbreaker"
Hunt.
Maddox Hunt is a one and done type of guy. He doesn’t
go back for seconds and he especially wouldn’t risk his career for another roll
with a female co worker but when it comes to Joss O’Neil, he is
thinking of throwing his rules aside and going back for more with her.
Their passion cannot be
denied as they continue to be around each other and they decide to engage in a
sexual affair only. But with these two, they refuse to admit their hearts are
involved. Soon lines are being crossed and for Joss that can end in only one
way…..PAIN and HEARTBREAK
The story moved along
seamlessly and this was a fantastic plot. I loved their job and getting to see
them doing it. Police officers always have this hard job and actually reading
about that struggle was great and seeing them balance that along with their
relationship-awesome. Maddox is a good man who struggles with being the boss
and being the man. He wants his lady but doesn’t know if he can have her while
Joss just wants to be with the man she loves and struggles with will they ever
get to show their love and other angsty things. The dynamic at play in their relationship
was awesome. This is a great start to a new series and I cannot wait to read
the next book.
