Calla opens a restaurant with her friends Wes, Forest, Adam and Trey. She has also just gone thru a horrible breakup with her ex fiancée because she caught him cheating on her. Thing is, her ex is a food reviewer so he keeps finding reasons to come be in her kitchen and cause her undone pain and heartache. Thank goodness for her friends because she leans on then for everything. Soon Calls comes to realize that she wants more from her friend Wes, that she wants him to be more to her. Unknown to her, Wes has been in love with her for a long time but he doesn’t want to rock the boat and take that extra step that would move them from friends to lovers. He doesn’t want to be her rebound fling. So he encourages her to go dates, to go have fun all while its killing him deep inside. Can these two friends come to realize that they are in love with one another and take their super slow romance to the next step?
This is a sweet romance that has some hints of BDSM. I liked the characters and enjoyed the friends to lovers trope that this authors has written. Calla and Wes really make a good couple, if there was any minor complaints, it would be the time it took the Main Characters to finally get together. Overall, great read.
