What a fantastic ending to
the spectacular Coming
Home trilogy. Cowboy Up is
a story I have been so looking forward to. It is the story of the eldest Davis
sibling but it is also the conclusion to the emotionally charged and beautifully
written series.
Clayton’s story has been one
that I have wanted to read since book 1. I have to say, he was very much worth
the wait. Clay is the oldest and has been the parental figure to the younger
Davis siblings. He is a man who is strong, quiet, at times irritable and moody in previous books
but in this book he shows a side that was rarely seen- tender, loving, giving
and full of love. So much love that he was bursting from the seams with it.
This is a man that I knew lurked in the previous books and was dying for his
story to be told, because he is the kind of guy that women long for and I knew
this was my book boyfriend and I totally claimed him as soon as I started
reading …CLAY WAS MINE!!! Clay’s woman
was not someone who was weak, oh no. She was someone who had been thru a lot and
Caroline meets Clay when she went out looking to let off some steam at a
bar. She has this crazy life going on and needed a release from the pressure
building up inside of her so her friend Luke introduces her to a cowboy he
knows…Clay. They have this wild night together and when it was over, the
connection doesn’t go away. Their chemistry is intense and strong, and that night
stayed with them after it was over. 2 months go past when they meet up again.
Caroline has had a run of very bad luck –she is currently homeless after her
bookstore was set on fire. They meet up again and that chemistry is still
burning hot and bright between them. Clay and Caroline find that they want to see
where this connection, this chemistry would take them after they haven’t had
the best luck in the relationship department. Will they find that this is real
and true, and worth fighting for?
Cowboy Up is a beautiful and
emotional read that is packed full of emotion, passion, and feels. There is a
story that the characters leap out at you, grab you and keep you hooked from
start to finish. I also enjoyed getting to revisit with previous characters
from the past books and what I also fount interesting is that, not only is this
a romance, but a romance with a villain(s). Ms. Sloan has written such a lovely
and sexy cowboy story with a great HEA. I look forward to reading what the
author has coming up next.
My Rating: 4.8 stars *****
