This is the conclusion to This Is Dangerous with Checkmate:
This is Beautiful. Logan and Kayla had
gone thru so much in TID and when the book ended, we were left with Kayla
having amnesia. What a cliffhanger…now we pick up where the book left off. Logan
and Kayla had to find their love all over again and on top of the
Kayla have to get to know who Logan was. OMG I was so scared their love would
be for naught. Poor Kayla and Poor Logan……my heart was breaking because each
was slowly dying inside but for different reasons. Logan came to realize who he
truly loved and how much he needed that person in his life while Kayla learned
what she truly needed and who she truly needed and loved in her life …but did
she come to realize this too late?
Knowing this is the end to
the Checkmate series made me very sad but at the same time, it was wonderful
getting to know all the characters and get to watch them all meet, fall in love
and go on the roller coaster of emotions journey with them as their love was
tested. Each couple met in this series led to the next couple which led to the
final couple- Logan and Kayla. I enjoyed their angsty, moving, romantic,
exciting and adorable romance. There is so much that kept me hooked. I had
tears in my eyes at how wonderful Logan was toward Kayla yet she didn’t remember
him—the last thing she remembered was 2 years before- before Logan. Can he bring
their love , their deep and moving love back to her or is she lost forever to
him? And what was going on? Why was she at the house where her attack happened?
What tie does she have to Logan’s case? What is going on? And what is the deal
with the old man and the puppy dog?? There is wayyyyyy too much going on and I
was on pins and needles in this final story in the Checkmate series. I am saddened that this is
it but OMG I hope we get possible novella down the road about the awesome and
sexy couples in this series. I thank Kennedy Fox for writing such a fabulous
series and keeping me up at nights while I had to read , then re-read my fav
series. This is one that will be on the re-read list 4EVER.
