‘SCANDALOUS:’ is the fourth book in the ‘Sinner of Saint’ series by L.J. Shen. It is done in Dual POV so we get Edie & Trent’s Perspective.
In this book, Edie is eighteen, Trent is thirty-three—Their forbidden love story is one that is taboo and one that is possibly against all odds yet the temptations, desire and heat between these two is there. There is this incredible push/pull between them yet its one that continues to draw them back to one another over and over. Chance meeting your perfect opposite/other. One who is your protector and endanger –what would you do? That is the dilemma for Edie for that is who Trent is for her. Could say that for Trent too..
Trent Rexroth, a 33 year old member of a so known group of Todos Santos millionaires the infamous foursome HotHoles ( remember Jamie, Dean & Vicious) who also runs their business with Jordan Van Der Zee. Trent is a hardcore businessman and he has just bought 49% shares from Jordan. There is some tension or really bad blood between Trent and Jordan. More on Jordan’s side and Trent doesn’t know why but he gets the hint that Jordan wishes he was dead and gone but he cant figure out why but he will be happy to put an END to it all.
Trent is a single father to a beautiful little girl Luna, who is 4 yrs old, who has some issues he is trying to handle. Her issues are why he trying to find her mother who took off on them several years before . He needs to locate her mother so she can sign off on her custody rights over his daughter Luna since she doesn’t care for her or him.
Trent met Edie Van Der Zee at a BBQ that Dean was having for his child’s birthday. He then met up with her again for the 2nd time when he caught her stealing and now for the third time they meet when he finds out she is working at Fiscal Heights Holdings.
Edie is a lonely girl who has no one in her life that cares about her, which includes her father. He uses her to do things she doesn’t want to do and when she doesn’t do what he wants, he makes her pay. Only thing that made her happy was being in the water and living in California. Now her father has called her back to come work for him. She is slowly suffocating and she doesn’t know if she can make it…that is until she meets Trent. Like calls to Like. They seem to catch fire when around each other. The emotions they bring out with each other and in each other are amazing. And the angst is sharp and raw. Edie and Trent are two broken souls who feed each others souls and slowly piece each other back together but it is not immediate and it is one emotional roller coaster where we have Trent in, then out-the push/pull between these two is soo hot..but the thing is Edie has her own agenda and what will happen when Trent finds out that he is it? Is Edie doing things because she wants to or who is pulling her strings? Oh are things going to get razed to the ground when all comes out. What I do know is that Edie truly has feelings for Trent and he has feelings for her but they both fight the feelings. For the truest truths can keep them together or yet can keep them so desperately apart. Will they get those feels, that HEA or will everything break apart?
I loved this story, the emotional feels it gave, because it isn’t all about Edie and Trent, we also got to see the dad side of Trent and we also got to see previous characters make a return visit in this book and see how they are doing and get updates on them which was fantastic. It was getting to see how everything ended up for the guys and their ladyloves. Passion, blackmail, , angst, anger, taboo , forbidden love, loyalty is all flavors in this story. You wont regret reading this book …I am just said this is it for the series but I was so happy to get to read how it ended.
